Here are my personal top five courses from places all over the World. Get those electric golf trolleys ready, here come the best of the best.
5. Number five is Shinecock Hills golf club
This is a brilliant course that has been the host to four US opens. A very challenging course indeed you will struggle to make your handicap on this one. This course was designed way back in 1891 and had major works to it in 1930 and since then the course has remained in pretty much the same way, which of course is brilliant.
4. The oldest course ever? St Andrews
Quite possibly the oldest golf course in the world with golf being played here way back in the 12th century. Although being the home to golf it does apprently not treat the newcomers to it very well, with many people saying they would never play there again. It is a course that you have to get to know and love before you actually enjoy playing here.
3. Cypress point club
the vast majority of people will never get a chance to play on this course as it only has 250 members but the last few holes have been called the best in golf. I have never actually played this course so I have no idea how well it plays but it certainly had to come into the top five.
2. Royal County Down golf course is at number two
This course was first designed in 1889 with further work done to it in 1908 as well as this it has been voted the best course in the United Kingdom. This has to be at number two simply because it is a stunning course with some of the best holes I have ever had the pleasure to play on.
1.Number one is the fantastic Pine Valley
This course really had to take the number one spot purely down to the fact it is the best looking course I have ever seen. The course itself is brilliant with only one thing i suggest avoiding and that is the 10ft bunker containing no sand to get out with! If you get the golf ball into the bunker then there is no way you are going to get out of it.
There you have it my personal favourite top five course in the world. No need to charge up those golf batteries when you have the caddies at these places to drag your clubs around for you.
